Life’s Curves, Our Story

Purpose of Life – Every Experience a Preparation

Our life journeys form stories. And like all good stories they have a beginning, and a middle, and an end. And along the way we will undoubtedly encounter conflict, and heartache, as well as triumphs and joys. And one thing is for sure. Our story, our life journey, will not follow a totally predictable path.

But you already know this truth. Your life journey, and mine, has already had many twists and turns. As we’re traveling, often at breakneck speed, it’s easy to get caught up in attempting to navigate the turns, and miss the point the story is trying to make.

But when we look back on our journey, it’s easier to see the themes, to see the point of our story. Our journey is a magnificent story, and if we allow ourselves to reflect, we can consider what we have learned at different points along the road. But we don’t have to wait until months or years later to gain benefit from life’s curves. One of my favorite questions to ask when I encounter a difficult situation, a curve that life has thrown at me so to speak, is, “What is this situation trying to teach me?” If I slow down, if I calm my emotions, and listen for an answer to this question, I’m often astounded by what I learn.

I’ve come to believe strongly that in some ways, my journey has been specifically designed for my benefit, with each curve helping me learn something I need to know, holding the potential to make be a better person, a stronger person, and most importantly, to prepare me for the rest of the journey.

So as you travel along your journey today, I encourage you to appreciate the story that your life represents and to be prepared to learn from life’s curves so that you will be prepared for the next part of your journey.

Great job Paul. Another great addition to the series. If you left this out then people who have had curves thrown at them (and who hasn’t), would have an excuse not to move down the sacred path. It creates a great disclaimer opening doors so that people to make progress in life. Thanks.
