The Two Paths, The Two Awarenesses, and The Two Responeses – Part 2
This is the second segment in the three-part series called the Two Paths, the Two Awarenesses, and the Two Responses. Essentially, this series is designed to help answer the question, “How do I find my purpose?” and find and a passion for life. Again, I’d like to encourage you to complete the Begin Your Journey Assessment if you’d like to get a clear picture of where you are currently on your Sacred Path Journey. You can access this assessment on the main page of the Tools sections. Well, in the first segment I talked about the choice we make to travel on the Sacred Path or the Path of Compromise. The Sacred Path is that life journey that corresponds to your Calling, and asks you to use your gifts and talents to fulfill a particular purpose. It is the life path that will bring you passion and meaning and joy But how do you know where your Sacred Path is, and how do you find it if you don’t know?
Well, I believe you already know the answer to these questions. I believe you are already aware of your Calling, the question is, what type of awareness. Perhaps you have a clear sense of what you should be doing with you life. You’ve heard that quiet small voice tugging at your heart entreating you to do a particular thing, to spend your life energies in particular ways. And your clear about it. If so, you’re consciously aware of your Calling. This is the first type of Awareness.
But others do not know how they should be spending their time and energy. They know that, “there must be more than this,” but they don’t know where the more is. This feeling that there must be more is a message from our subconscious. Your Calling has already sent traveling directions to your subconscious. You already know the answer about where to spend your life energies subconsciously. This is the second type of Awareness, subconscious awareness. The challenge if you do not consciously know what your Calling is, or in other words where your Sacred Path is to be found, is to bring what is know in your subconscious mind to your conscious mind.
To bring what’s know in your subconscious mind to your conscious mind, you must learn to listen, learn to hear what you’re being asked to do with your life energies. If you do not have a clear sense of where your Sacred Path is, and you would like to learn more about how to hear your calling, you will find a number of exercises, assessments, and activities in the Discovery part of the Journey Tools section of this site that will help you bring what you already know to the forefront of your conscious mind. Also, you will want to check out the Sacred Path Navigation Guide for a step-by-step program to understand you Calling and to begin to pursue you Sacred Path.
Let me ask you two questions. If you’re consciously aware of your Calling, are you following it? And if you’re subconsciously aware of this Calling, or in othere words, unsure as to how to best use your gifts and talents, are you willing to put in the time and effort to learn how to pull what’ in your subconscious into your conscious mind?
